Seasons in life

Yes, my friends. It's finally happened. He flew the coup! Never thought he would, but it actually happened. We have been so blessed that Gabby documented their travels extensively on Facebook. Her beautiful pictures of them and the places they visited really helped with the sadness we all felt when Sean left. I'd like to say that things get easier, but as the days go on and he now settles in California, it's finally setting in for me. He ain't coming back! Oh well. Serves me right! After all, I left too.

But then again, it has always been my job to let go. Every one of the chicks are going to fly the nest at some point, hopefully. I train them up to honor God, their husbands or wives, and that is all my job is. Simple! Right! Not going there, because we all know it ain't! In a big way, parenting is just like our relationship with Christ. We are supposed to let go. He'll take care of us.

To send the first born off we had to have some parties. The first one was in CT with the rest of the Perreaults. Of course there had to be some shenanigans. Actually, we can blame Gabby this time around. She fits so well into our family!! It was her idea to have Tom construct a fake cake and to have the hand come out of it just as he blows out the candles. And yes, it was a success!!! I think we scared poor Sydney to death. I hope she will be able to enjoy cake when she is older without the vision of Tom's hand coming out of the cake.

The Perreault generations!

I have to say that we are so blessed to get to know Gabby. She's exactly what I have been praying for in regards to someone for Sean. It's so wonderful to watch them together. Reminds me a lot of Tom and I. As they settle into their life in California, I'm very excited for them. Of course, as poor mommy, I worry about Sean starting up a business. But I have to remind myself that God sent him out there and if there is one thing my oldest does, he listens to Him first and foremost. It's really kind of fun to see.

I have been busy with getting the new book ready for publishing. I'm constantly learning more things. It's amazing how much there is to this publishing. Tasha put another killer cover together! I mean, very professional! Very intriguing. More about my amazing daughter in a minute. This time around, I did things a little different from before. First of all, I ordered a proof, an actual physical book, before I approved the whole thing. It was a good thing too, because as I read through it, I found several areas I could improve in. I have been told that you can go over something a million times, and still find things you want to fix. I went through the novel with a finetooth comb and fixed all I needed to. Then... the nightmare of formatting began. I had gotten it into my head to put drop caps at each chapter beginning. It took me about 2 weeks to figure that one out. And another week to set it up right. I have a few more gray hairs because of it. Talk about crazy!!! When it was ready, Tasha had to tweek the cover for the spine, which is a challenge for her. Math is involved!!!! So, it was resent and submitted. Now I'm waiting for another proof, so I can make sure the cover looks just right. Talk about waiting! Ugh. I don't do well waiting! But I'm learning. A lot. Of patience!

AJ has lived a nightmare all her life, with the shadow of her father's heavy hand over her. She has lost the faith she sees all over her church, and is struggling to hold on to what bit she has left. As her life is turned upside down with an unexpected offer, she starts to see that God has never left her alone.
Mac Cooper seems to be at the right place at the right time to come alongside this very shy and withdrawn woman. When an innocent gesture explodes in his face, he has to decide whether to walk in anger or walk with Christ.

Now for Tasha's news. She's decided that she loves to design book covers. It challenges her and she can use the gift God has given her. Her artisticness (I know that's not a word). She looked at different possibilities and found a six month program that concentrates on just graphic design. She'll have a certification after. She's starting the first of July and is totally stoked about it. So am I because in the end I'll benefit from her experience. See how that works? Yeah, I'm sneaky! I just don't know if I'll be able to afford her anymore :) . But seriously, I think she wants to keep eating, I think.

Here are some more pictures of Sean. Enjoy. And may God bless you.

This is on their trip across country
